Efectividad escalas del MMPI-2 Efectividad de las Escalas Clínicas y de Validez del MMPI-2 en Detectar Patrones de Contestación Honesto, Simulación y Engaño en el Contexto de Selección de Personal

El propósito de la presente investigación fue auscultar la efectividad de las escalas clínicas y de validez del MMPI-2 en detectar patrones de contestación honesto, simulación y engaño en el contexto de selección de personal. Un total de 60 sujetos participaron en el estudio de los cuales un 33.3% (17) era del género masculino y 66.7%(34) del femenino. La edad promedio de la muestra fue igual a 31.76 años con una desviación estandar igual 7.41. También se utilizó como grupo control un total de 47 resultados del MMPI-2 de candidatos al puesto de Alguacil Auxiliar de la Oficina de la Administración de los Tribunales de Puerto Rico. En este caso particular, este grupo había sido examinado en un contexto real de selección de personal. Un total igual a 72.3% (34) era del género masculino y un 27.7% (13) femenino. La edad promedio del grupo control fue igual a 30.85 años de edad con una desviación estandar igual a 6.44. Los 60 sujetos fueron asignados al azar a las diferentes condiciones de investigación con excepción de los candidatos a empleo, los cuales fueron utilizados como grupo control. Los resultados sugieren que aparentemente tanto las escalas clínicas como las de validez del MMPI-2 son efectivas en detectar los diferentes patrones de contestación. Las implicaciones de los resultados son discutidas.

Abstract

The aim of this study was to examine the effectiveness of the MMPI-2 validity and clinical scales in identifying individuals who answer honestly, faking good, faking bad in the personnel selection context. A total of 60 subjects participated in the research of which 33.3% (17) were men and 66.7%(34) were women. The age mean of the sample was 31.74 with a standard deviation of 7.41. All 60 subjects were randomly assigned to the different experimental conditions. Also, a control group composed of 47 candidates for the Auxiliary Marshal position of the Court Administration Office of Puerto Rico. In this particular case, this group was assessed in a real personnel selection context. A total of 72.3% (34) were men and 27.7% (13) were women. The mean of the sample was 30.85 with a standard deviation of 6.44. results suggest that MMPI’s clinical and validity scales appear to be effective in the detection of faking good and faking bad. Implication of results are discussed.
